This is probably Seattle's most famous gyro stand. Opened in the 1980s in the historic Pike Place Market by Demetrios Moraitis, it evens features Mr. D's little-seen gyro sculptures in the forms of famous dignitaries.

In 1909, Gus, Tony and Andrew Papadakis opened the Athenian Inn in the heart of Seattle's Pike Place Market. In the 1950s and 60's their nephew, Larry Rouvelas, became the owner. While no longer Greek owned, it continues operation today, in 2020.
